LOOK AT THAT FACE!
How could anyone even think of calling me "ROTTEN"?
When I came out of the Dachshund rescue program in Nashville, Tn., they told my new daddy that my name was Scooter. (They were wrong!) My name is Scrappy and my new daddy let me keep that name since I had lost everything else. I'm only about 4 years old, but they couldn't tell my daddy for certain when my birthday is, so we celebrate it on the day that he rescued me. So I became 4 years old officially on March 5, 1998.
So, why would a handsome young dachsie like myself be in the slammer? Well, I was accused of snapping at a child and they had scheduled me for the "big sleep" when Nashville dachshund rescue bailed me out. There was some concern, since I now had a bad reputation as a biter, but I'm just the most kissy-face dachsie you would ever want to meet. Every night when daddy tries to go to bed, I have to make sure he gets at least 100 million, million slurpy kisses (or, at least as close to that many as I can get!). Otherwise, I just can't sleep myself. Sometimes, I have to sneak some in during the daytime too, just in case I missed a few the night before. Can't take any chances.
So now I'm living here in Jacksonville with my new daddy. He loves me very much, and I love him too. He has been teaching me all about being nice and sharing with his other dachsies and I have not even considered biting or snapping at anyone or anything. I'm really a good dog, even though the people in Nashville never thought so. All I needed was a loving owner to teach me the proper way to behave around other pets and people.
