A story (kleenex alert)
The story below is one that I first read many years ago. It affected me deeply and to this day, I cannot read it without tearing up again.
Silly Sidney
I promised that over time, I would tell about some of my own dogs in my writings, so this is the story of my Silly Sidney.
Norman is famous!
Well, Norman is famous in Jacksonville, anyway. Our local newspaper here in Jacksonville decided to do a story on rescue and foster families for homeless pets.
Boring
Well, after my last entry being so "preachy", I've spent the last month trying to determine what I can do to recapture any interest at all in anything else I might want to say.
On My Soapbox
Once again I climb up on my soapbox to speak in favor of rescuing the older dachshund. Yes, I know it's on this website on other pages, but I think it bears repeating.
Soldiering onwards
Thanks to all of you who have written to support the decision to dissolve the Dachshund Rescue Web Page as a corporation.
Rest In Peace, Dachshund Rescue Web Page, Inc.
It's been so long since I've had the chance to post anything. I've been working, desperately, to salvage what little I could of my dream for a dachshund sanctuary, but it seems that some things are just not to be.
The Dachsie Dude Ranch - A New Beginning
It's been too long since I wrote anything about my dream of a dachshund sanctuary, primarily because there has been nothing new to write. Well, now there is hope once again.
Faithful Frisky
When I first started these random ramblings, one of the things I promised was that I would tell the stories of some of my personal pets, in addition to those of some of the animals that have passed through the rescue. The time just hasn't been there to sit down and write about all (or even some) of the animals that I have loved over the years.
The Rainbow Bridge
Many of you have seen various versions of the Rainbow Bridge story. The original has been distributed far and wide, usually attributed to anonymous.
Many of you have also seen the Rescuers Rainbow Bridge, which holds a great deal of meaning to those of us who do rescue work.
Less well known is a story of the Rainbow Bridge called The Reunion.
