I read every story here and I am balling my eyes out. Thank you for doing such great work! Every dog should have the love you provide your rescues. I do not own a dox, my best friend does and Im shopping for her x-mas present. I like to make sure whatever I get her also benefits an animal. We have two labs and a rescue we just took in and I wish everyone would take a chance on an animal that isnt a puppy. Our rescue came to us not knowing what a toy is, not trusting enough to take treats from a human hand, and never having barked before. I was told he had bad social skills. In a few days, a dog that was in danger of euthanasia because of his "problems socializing" has given me a new lease on life and is a core member of my family. He plays non-stop, licks my hands, takes treats and has found his voice! Dogs will reflect the love and care you give them. I hope people stop looking for the ideal young well-behaved, loving dog.
