Reeses' Story

My 11 year old son and I adopted a baby female dachshund from this rescue well over a year ago. We live in St Petersburg, FL. She was found with her female sibling Madison and her mother walking the streets after one of the hurricanes. Her original name at adoption was "Yoda" but we decided to change it when my son said "aw, she's so small, just like a reeses pieces". I would like to express our appreciation to the rescue. Our weenie dog has been such a pleasure. Reeses is a baby, she sleeps up under the covers with my son or I every night. She is so very loving and fun. We do spoil her with toys and treats. She loves to play tug-of-war and fetch. We taught her to sit, speak, and do a little ballerina spin for a treat. Thank you Dachshund rescue, we love our doggie!
