Reba's Story

Reba's Story!

March 23, 2001

To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Katrina Dixon-Willis, and I adopted a dachshund off of your web site. It is a quite fascinating story. I have been searching for a dachshund for over 5 1/2 years. I have been through most of the dachshund rescue groups, but they were really demanding, or some just brushed me off. After waiting for 5 years I only got one home visit about 4 months ago. The representative told me she had no problem with me adopting a dachshund and she said she would be in touch. I never heard from her again. I continued to search for myself, and I found a lady out in Oklahoma who was giving a 6 year old female smooth doxie up for adoption. I immediately contacted her through her email. She then got in contact with the Dachshund Underground Railroad. About 2 weeks later, a representative from the Dachshund Underground Railroad contacted me. I went to Pennsylvania on Sunday, March 18, 2001 and picked my Reba up. She came with her shot records and AKC papers. Her past owner, Debra Wheeler, even sent her some treats, her bed and some food. Reba loves to sleep under covers. We got an afghan for her. She has adjusted very well, and her and my chocolate lab are the best of friends. Reba loves to go riding and walking. She is right under me all the time, and I love the attention. Reba also likes tuna and chicken mixed with her doggy food. She is under my feet right now as I type this message to you. My 5 year search is over, and I am happy. I am also happy to have given a loving home to doxie who needed a home.

Thank You,
Katrina Dixon-Willis in Delaware
