Zack is a red dapple dachshund who is looking for a human who can be patient with him and give him time to adjust to his new surroundings. When he first came to my house, he just wandered around in circles whining – I think he was very stressed out. It just takes some time for Zack to get accustomed to you. He probably needs an adult only household with no other pets so that he can get all the attention he deserves. A fenced yard would be a plus. He walks well on a leash and gets along with the small dogs here. His new home should have no big dogs and no children. He hasn’t been cat-tested. He loves to play with his rubber chicken, his kong and a racquet ball. He will go to his new home with all his favorite toys. He should go to a home where he spends minimal time in a crate because he doesn’t enjoy confinement though he sleeps well in his crate at night. **In order to avoid transporting Zack and to facilitate a home visit he will only be placed within 100 miles (or thereabouts) of the Baltimore-Washington DC-Northern VA area.**
